Hey everyone im a new mom to be i have a question about c-section ad gender?
SOUNDS TO ME LIKE U MIGHT BE HAVING A BOY BUT IT DEPENDS YOUR BODY TYPE BEFORE YOU GOT PREGNANT!! EVERYWOMAN IS DIFFERENT .. BUT THEY SAY IS UR STOMACH IS LOW IT IS A BOY AND IF IT IS HIGH IT IS A GIRL!! ABOUT THE C- SECTION IDK IF THEY WILL GRANT YOU ONE JUST BECAUSE YOU WANT IT .. USUALLY THEY ARE ONLY PERFORMED FOR MEDICAL REASONS BUT I GUESS ITS WORTH A TRY! CONGRATS AND GOOD LUCK!
Reply:That will be complicated... You should NEVER even consider a C-section before your due date unless you have gone into labor and the doctor suggests it. And even if you did have a C-section, it's going to be very difficult to take care of the child while you are healing!

The best thing to do would be for him to ask for time off around your due date. If you don't go into labor naturally, don't start hounding your doctor about cutting on you right then. Try a pitocin drop (being induced). This should send you into labor, and there's no reason for them not to do it unless there are complications.
Reply:If you are carrying like a watermelon, old wives tales say it's a girl.

You cannot request a c-section unless there is a medical reason that you would need one. C-sections are major surgery, there are a lot of complications and if he is only going to be home for two days, you will still be in the hospital recovering when he leaves. Then you have a full six weeks of recovery ahead of time. Can't he request some time off? Companies are required to give you Family Medical Leave. Just plan it around the time you are due.
Reply:i think you are having a boy. i had 3 c sections and every one went great bit sore for the second one i think it was because i was in labour for so long then i had a emergency c section as long as you get up the next day and walk around a bit you will get better much faster only one of my c sections was planned the other 2 were emergency's good luck
Reply:I had an emergency c-section after 18 hours of labor and I would never voluntarily schedule one before trying labor first. Some doctors will induce labor on or around your due date, but most will not do a c-section out of convenience for your husband to be there. My second child we planned to try labor but had no choice, so when the time for a c-section came I was able to schedule it so my husband was present. Talk to your doctor about it and see if there's anything he or she can do. A c-section is not an easy thing to recover from, it is MAJOR surgery and if I had been able to do things naturally I would do so out of concern for myself. I was unable to move and could hardly pick up my own newborn child. Perhaps inducing would work better, but only your doctor can discuss that with you. I have no idea what to say about the gender, an ultrasound may or may not tell you. My son didn't want me to know, so I had to assume throughout my pregnancy.
Reply:The option of a c-section would be up to your ob/gyn. If there is not a need for one, the doc will probably schedule right at your due date. Generally scheduled sections are done between 38 and 39 weeks because the doc doesn't want mom to go into labor. If at all possible, it would be best for your hubby to take more than 2 days with a c-section though, you will need a lot of help the first week or so after the surgery. It will be difficult to stand and walk for the first week, and there is more care involved with a section. Good Luck! P.S. I'm guessing its a girl!
Reply:Well, from what i know I'm guessing that your baby is a girl but don't hold me to that...if your belly is like a watermelon and carrying low in the front, my friend had a baby that was a girl when she carried it like that....and the longer that your baby is in your stomach the healthier it will probably be when you give birth...i advise against a c-section because of all the risks unless absolutely necessary but it's up to you...i understand that you want your husband to be home for your birth but you also need to think about the health of your baby...if your doctor says that is no risk and you're set to have one...go for it....Good Luck and Congratulations!
Reply:It's up to you and your doctor. Some doctors are supportive of elective cesareans. You just have to ask yourself if you are willing to give up the chance for a natural. Most doctors and hospitals are backtracking and not recommending VBACs anymore so this decision could affect future pregnancies. When they schedule cesareans, it is between 38 and 39 wks because the baby will be ready and they don't want to risk you going into labor before surgery. Good luck.
Reply:It is hard to say what you could be having, let us know.
Reply:It sounds like a girl to me b/c i'm 25 weeks pregnant and carrying the same way and well there pretty sure its a girl it will be more confirmed when i go for another ultrasound tommrow but i carried completely opposite with my son. As far as a c-section for me it would be an absolouteeee last resort. But another alternative could be having an induction. With my son i had to be induced b/c i was 1 week and a half past my due date . After 18hrs of labour he was born perfect and healthly. And this woiuld allow your husband to share in the whole process with you. Also if he's unable to take off a little time you should make sure you have a back up plan of help even if it someone who can just run to the grocery store for you. Good luck!
