Can you believe C. Ray Nagin, mayor of New Orleans, is planning a party to remember Katrina?

As a New Orleans native, I feel that it's a slap in the face. Katrina was the most devastating thing we've ever had to face and when I think back on that faithful day, I realize that I don't feel like partying. That's like saying,"Let's have a block party on Ground Zero in New York to ring in 9/11!" I don't think so. Your thoughts please.

Can you believe C. Ray Nagin, mayor of New Orleans, is planning a party to remember Katrina?
I totally sympathize with you honey and i thinks its wrong and in bad taste to hold a party.
Reply:There are too many different groups planning too many different memorials. This is a glaring example of how disjointed our city is. Have you heard about the "hands around the Dome" thing? How stupid can people get? Nagin needs to get his head together and spend the money on actually rebuilding something, instead of these stupid memorials. The only memorial we need, we already have....a dirty brown waterline all across the city.
Reply:I can believe that nitwit Democrat moron would do about anything except what is right. Are people in that city certifiably INSANE for electing and re-electing this sorry excuse for protoplasm? Shades of Marion Berry...
Reply:A party is a slap in the face. There is nothing to celebrate. People are still homeless and FEMA is still giving folks the shaft. Some areas effected by Katrina have been untouched by clean up crews.

Maybe Mr. Nagin believes that a party will lift peoples spirits and draw some much needed attention back to the New Orleans area. I think that a Katrina barbecue and free sodas will do nothing but upset folks. It is the wrong approach.

I'm truly sorry.
