I am completly new to programing but i want to learn j2me should i first laarn c and c++ ?
There is no easy answer to "should you".

You CAN learn java/j2me without knowing C/C++.

You WILL understand j2me programming better if you know C first since it will force you to think about writing small, tight, efficient code and how some of the higher level (and more computationally expensive) constructs of java work.

It WILL take you a year or more to be even moderately competent at C/C++ which means delaying your learning of j2me.

So is it worth it? Only you can answer.
Reply:it would be better to learn c and c++ as its the first step towards learing programming then go for j2se and now u can go forward to j2ee or j2me.. then it would be better
Reply:You should first learn programming if you're new to programming. Learning a language without learning programming leads to bad code, frustration and other bad things. Get a copy of Wirth's "Algorithms + Data Structures = Programs" and learn why you do what you do first, then learn a language to do it in. (Once you know how to program, no language is really difficult, except FORTH [you have to stand on your head].)
Reply:I'm not familiar with j2me, but I can recommend a book that will help.

There is a series of books, "Teach Yourself - - - in 21 Days" and "Teach Yourself - - - in 24 Hours". In each case, you replace the "- - -" with what you want to learn.

I have the book, "Teach Yourself Visual Basic 6 in 21 Days", and it was enough to get me up and running, so I highly recommend this series of books by SAMS.
Reply:it will better for u that first learn c %26amp; c++

but u can do j2 without c %26amp; c++ but it is difficult to understand it
Reply:No there is no need to learn C or C++ for java/j2me, but when u start learning it do pay emphasis on programming. The need for C or c++ in learning java is to just know the programming .
Reply:LOL!

C is harder and better than Java.

Java sucks!

C is what you should learn. Don't even waste your time with Java.

You can do anything with C
Reply:You can directly learn J2ME but you have to learn basic commands like if, for .

You can use any nice book for that.

You can download free J2ME e-book from this link

Reply:to learn any programing like java one should aware of c. basics in c is enough
