My first quote was for $1300. In search of a better deal for me, my coworker said that he had a friend that would install a brand new, warrantied compressor for only $480. Although I'd certainly like to save over $800 I wonder if the deal is "too good". What's a normal price range to expect?
What's a reasonable price to get a new a/c compressor installed in my 2000 Honda Civic?

Reply:for a honda i would say 800-900 dollars, my guess is that is the dealership price the 1300 dollars. 480dollars doesn't sound like it includes labor. That could be a different aftermarket one that fits. I know there are cheaper replacements that are not OE. Not sure if they work as well. A OE honda part like that should go for high 300 to low 400.
