Hi. help please! I have a problem with my p.c. When i insert a new cd it is not read or acknowleded?
What colour is the disc - some CD/DVD's can't read purple discs

Reply:is it for your computer or operating system is it for 32 or 64 bit
Reply:when you put it in, if it doesnt read it or anything...try clicing on "my computer" and see if it is in there.


mine does this sometimes and thats what i have to do.

Reply:Really need more info because it could be anything. Faulty drive, requires drivers reinstalling, wire has worked loose.





First thing try the driver. Go to Start %26gt; Control Panel %26gt; System %26gt; Hardware tab %26gt; Device Manager %26gt; Select Disk Drives and then the CD rom drive. Then select the PC symbol with a cross through it to uninstall.





Reboot the PC and it will reinstall the CD Rom drive.





If that doesn't help try the IDE and power cable for the drive and ensure they are fully seated. Failing that I would suggest a new drive.
Reply:put the cd in then go to start- run -browse- and then find the cd drive click on it and it should open
