I am about to switch my current B.C. pills to YAZ (currently taking Ortho Tri Cyclen). Currently, I get all the bad side effects, moodiness, bloating, fatigue, etc. Has anyone tried this pill? Does it work like the commercial? Do the side effects get worse?
Has anyone tried the new B.C. Yaz?
I wouldn't try it based on the stupid commericals. I hate those! haha
Reply:yes. I have taken yaz! It was good to me- I had absolutely NO side affects (except for maybe a little bit of swelling in my breasts- which some girls would like I suppose). But I didn't gain any weight, I didn't get headaches, I didn't lose my sex drive, etc. I am not currently on birth control, but I plan to get back on it soon, and when I do it will be yaz. Hope that helps!
Reply:I tried regular Yasmin and it made me absolutely crazy because of the levels of hormones. I am normally funny, outgoing, etc. but I was pissed off and weepy the whole time. It was really weird. But I got on low-hormone of a different brand, but I read that it isn't effective as they once thought. My periods were never normal, but it could just be my system. All I know is that Ortho worked best for me, and I turn into Godzilla when I'm on Yasmin. But Yaz might be way different. I would personally try Ortho Ti-Cyclen Low, but that's just my experience.
Reply:I don't know about Yaz, specifically, but I take Lo-Estrin Fe (it has iron in the placebo pills), and I totally dig it! I get the mildest period EVER, and no cramping or weird side effects. It makes me glad to know there are lower hormone dosages too. Talk to your gyn, of course!
